If you are interested in earning a PharmD or PhD, come hear from five current graduate students at The University of Michigan!

Panelists

  • Iris He is a first-year PharmD student at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She also received her B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Michigan in 2021. At the College, Iris is a member of Phi Delta Chi and Health-System Student Pharmacists (HSP). She has worked at CVS Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician prior to starting pharmacy school, and she is currently a pharmacist intern there. She is interested in a career in clinical pharmacy, particularly in the field of oncology, and hopes to pursue a residency after pharmacy school. 

  • Dr. Abbie Leino is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Clinical Pharmacy Translational Science program. Prior to her Ph.D., she received her PharmD from the University of Michigan, followed by PGY1 residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and PGY2 solid organ transplant residency at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She next completed a clinical research fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical School. Her research interests include identifying strategies to optimize immunosuppression regimens through the application of innovative therapeutic drug monitoring, clinical PK/PD modeling, and interventions to incorporate patient preferences and behaviors to design more effective dosing regimens with fewer adverse events.  

  • Julianne Fava is a third-year PharmD student at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She got her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Cellular & Molecular Biology and Spanish. At the College, Julianne is a member of the Leadership Scholars Program, Rho Chi, Phi Lambda Sigma, Pharmacy Student Ambassadors, and the COP Well-being Committee. She is also President of the UM chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists.  Julianne has experience in inpatient pharmacy and managed care, and she is interested in pursuing a residency after graduation. 

  • Meagan Dean is a fourth-year pharmacy student at the University of Michigan’s College of Pharmacy. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with honors in April 2018 from the UM COP. Meagan is heavily involved with improving mental wellness in her community. She was the President of UM COP's Chapter of American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists, and has continued her involvement with as P4 Liaison.  Other affiliations include: a class representative within the Pharmacy Student Government Council, Phi Delta Chi, and Phi Lambda Sigma.  Meagan is working towards a residency post-graduation in April and, ultimately, a career in psychiatric pharmacy and academia.
